This week, you will prepare a presentation with PowerPoint. You will create your audio presentation by using an audio/video capturing tool located in NCUOne. To access the capture tool, follow the tutorial found in your Books and Resources for this Week.

You will now evaluate the research on affirmative approaches to treatment and support of the LGBTQ+ population and create a PowerPoint presentation and describing your findings. You will create a Kaltura capture where you present your presentation so that you can receive feedback on your verbal presentation skills. Select one group within the LGBQ+ population for this presentation that you would like to provide education about. Your target audience for this presentation should be undergraduate students who are interested in increasing their knowledge of this group.

In your PowerPoint, be sure to address the following:

Describe your population and the needs of this group (e.g., you might select LGB youth as your target population and talk about challenges this group faces and reasons why affirmative treatment and support are useful to this group).

Define “affirmative therapies” and how they work. You can in part define these approaches based on how they are different from other approaches in supporting your population of choice.

• Explain some of the research on the efficacy (effectiveness) of affirmative therapies.
• Include a list of 4 to 6 tips you would offer to a person working with this population.
